As a Holistic Health Counsellor it is my joy to guide each individual in finding his or her balance in all of these areas.
In 1987 I graduated from the French Culinary Institute. At this time I also attended several classes at Annemarie Colbin, Ph.D, Ches. School of Natural Gourmet Cookery. Which is the oldest natural foods cooking school in the country. It is also the only one licensed by the New York State Education Department and accredited to offer a career Chef’s Training Program in natural foods cooking. Intuitively I knew I must incorporate both flavorful foods and healing foods so that each individual’s needs are not only met nutritionally, but with a pleasant palate utilizing a diet that suits their individual body type and lifestyle. This path led me to the the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. And they are a holistic nutrition school that is integrating all different dietary theories, from the ancient traditions of Ayurveda, macrobiotics and Chinese medicine to the most current concepts like raw foods, Atkins diet, blood type diets, the Zone and the USDA Healthy Eating Pyramid. This was the reason why I chose them for enhancing my knowledge. Since I was already familiar with the theories in general but wanted to cement in the information clearly as well as show my clients that I was accredited.

Like most of us, you have probably tried a variety of diets, and may even have managed to do well on some for a few weeks or even months. However, the emphasis these diets place are on willpower, deprivation and denial these are unnecessary and counter-productive. The reality is that, unless you have a plan that is practical, works with your lifestyle, and takes your individuality into account, it will not last. I can help you to create such a plan.

- Two, one-hour sessions a month, including detailed recommendations

- Hands-on cooking classes that focus on quick and easy meals
Conventional dietary theories present you with food restrictions and limitations that are difficult to sustain over time. Such quick fixes do nothing to help you achieve life-long wellness nor do they bring out the body’s natural inclination toward balance. Together, we will introduce new and healthful foods and activities, gently and slowly. As you start to feel better, these habits have a natural tendency to take hold and ease out the less healthful ones.
As you become more physically consciousness, other areas of your life such as relationships, career and creativity start to improve. You will naturally begin to crave the foods and activities that make you feel better, and to make time in your life for those things that are truly important to you.
How to Start Working Together
When our initial consultation takes place, we will discuss your unique situation in depth and determine how I can help you reach your personal goals. We will be able to see if we are a good match and if this approach will work for you. Even this first session will demonstrate how a holistic, individualized approach can make a major difference in your life. My initial research for this consultation will be based on information you provide to me prior to our consultation, including any health history and existing problems. Following this research we will have a consultation which often lasts up to 90 minutes, where we will discuss my findings, and which therapies may benefit you.
The goal of your personalized wellness program is to radically improve your life, to resolve concerns specific to you and to provide you with tools for a lifetime of balance. We will work on finding not only the right foods for your body, but also on what, in the other areas of your life, feeds you at the deepest levels. This unique approach provides meaningful, lasting results.
